Feature suggestion: plot underlying data scatterplot

Open santiago-afonso opened this issue 5 years ago • 1 comments

Hello!

I'd like to suggest a feature for your consideration. Sometimes it is of great help to be able to see the underlying data scatterplot in transparent, light gray points, as in the following example that one coauthor manually implemented some time ago:

It could also help understand why sometimes the results are not those expected.

Thanks!

I like this idea, but I'm going to leave it for now for the simple reason that it's trickier than it needs to be to implement. The graph is actually drawn in memory when the data is collapsed to 'bin-level', I'd have to move the drawing out to the very end of the script and merge on the bin-level stuff afterwards, or otherwise use frames to do this. Maybe I'll have time over the holidays to handle this (would be nice :)).
