Search bar sometimes breaks when refocusing a tab with MDN

Summary

Sometimes, when going back to a tab with MDN open, the search bar no longer works, i.e. focusing it and typing a query doesn't yield any search results, nor the "No search results" found message.

Reproduction steps

1. Open MDN.
2. Go to another tab.
3. Go back to the tab.
4. Focus the search bar and type a query.

(This only happens sometimes.)

Expected behavior

The search should return results.

Actual behavior

It doesn't return any results.
