Set protection UI is confusing
Hi,
Not a bug, but I wondered if you would consider tweaking the UI in the Set Protection part of the module?
Putting a check in a checkbox would normally equate to switching something on, or enabling something.
By making it negative (prevent), users have to think very carefully about what the option means. That could be fixed by tweaking the labels and swapping the meaning of the checkbox.
Here's a possible improvement:
Set protection:
- Allow print
- Allow copy
- Allow modify
I'll think about this but I tend to agree that dealing with negatives in setting names can lead to confusion.
Ok, looking at this after not paying too much attention to it for a while and agree it is confusing.
I wonder if this is still under review? I am a new user of the certificate module and unsure whether I should check the box or not. I only want my students to be able to print, but not modify or copy. For this circumstance, which box(es) should be checked?
There are 69 feature/bug requests and 8 pull requests that I have to look at. Unfortunately this is not as high a priority as some of the bugs that completely break the certificate that I am working on now. Jane, in your case you would check prevent modify or copy.
