Yeah this is by design. If the ident is \* its effectively a Z:Line and done literally as soon as the socket is opened / DNS lookup.

Well headers etc would need to be installed to the correct locations etc. The main use case I'm thinking of here is distro packages, see: znc-buildmod.

What's your justification for only allowing one path? Maybe it could be changed into an array of paths?
