Test different values for VAD in Freeswitch

If it's cutting off the first syllable of words, you can adjust the energy value in freeswitch conference to trigger VAD earlier. Setting it to 0 transmits everyone 100% of time, I set mine to 100 for most servers.
So it might be interesting to test a different value to this VAD setting and see if it can improve the audio somehow.

The default value that we use is 50.
