Support ComfyUI backend using Zluda on Windows with AMD gpu
Feature Idea
It would be great, if installed on windows with an amd gpu, there was the option to install comfyui zluda (example repo https://github.com/patientx/ComfyUI-Zluda) instead or additionally to the normal comfyui with directml. There should be a good performance increase to make this worth it for amd users on windows. Also zluda should be quite stable on comfyui

Per recent discord conversation - it's now (jankily) partially supported - if you install that repo, and then use a Comfy Self Start backend pointing to it, it should work. Automatic installation still TBD. Ideally shouldn't rely on a fork of comfyui to work
At a glance through the repo, it doesn't need to be a fork at all indeed - it's just some install scripts and two tiny monkeypatches, so that can probably be extracted out to a custom node for the patches and just handle the install scripts separately.
Heads up: I came across an article at Phoronix: Open-Source AMD GPU Implementation Of CUDA "ZLUDA" Has Been Taken Down. Looks like this won't be going any further in its current form. There are forks and the dev is talking about starting all over again but who knows how this will develop.
The official repo has this message.
Looks like this won't be going any further in its current form.
The project started redevelopment. But we need to wait for former progress untill Q3 2025.

ZLUDA is still under active development https://github.com/lshqqytiger/ZLUDA
Considering this as legacy now that AMD is actively pushing "TheRock" native ROCm Windows support
