This is being removed in cocotb 2.0 and will begin breaking our ecosystem CI tests once (https://github.com/cocotb/cocotb/pull/3509) is merged.

Soon™. But take your time if you need it. The core of cocotb-coverage will continue to work regardless.

EDIT: Oh, cocotb 2.0 you mean. That will be about the beginning of the new year we think.
