Move to Group/Parent Feature

Open megamorphg opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Description

Chromium has this handy feature to be able to move a tab to a specific group/parent within the same window. It would be great to have something similar even if it is a pop-up in order to make the right-click menu load fast.

Further configurations:

  • Only tab parents and groups show in the list
  • List sorted by the ones with the most recently active children (this may be a difficult query)
  • Choice whether to move in background and follow normal behavior as if closing the tab
  • Choice to move multiple tabs
  • Choice to move to end of parent or beginning

Use case/Application: Having a tab group with 100 tabs makes it hard to move a new tab to a different group due to having to drag and drop across tabs, which in itself has issues, activating groups, tabs, and panels while dragging.

Also OneNote has a good drag and drop behavior of tabs. I would like to have the ability to drag a tab to the right to make it a sub tab of the tab above the tab.

Hard to believe this feature (move to group or parent) does not exist since it is even found in Chromium's basic tab groups. Would be very, very useful.

I find myself wanting this function on a daily basis: I cannot over state how helpful this would be to me: An absolute game changer. IMHO this function would be far more useful than "move to panel".
