Automatic snapshots not working.

As the title says, automatic snapshots are not being created. I'm a new user, set up snapshot settings few days ago, today I checked and not a single one has been created automatically. I can still create them manually.

Also note that if the new snapshot has no differences from the previous, it will not be saved (in v4)

My snapshots were working previously and then I changed a setting it stopped working. Even manual snapshot wasn't working. And then I restarted Firefox and both automatic and manual were working.

I think this is related to having Sidebery configuration open. Related issues with snapshotting:

• Sidebery configuration screen shows up in the snapshot but when restart FF or restoring a snapshot, it skips it:
• Restoring a snapshot that includes about: URLs gives errors for those tabs:
• Sidebery backup doesn't include hotkeys? I change a lot of them. That way I can switch to v4 and v5 easily?

Anyway, we need the snapshots to be reliable because Sidebery panels don't get backed up by other systems. At least temporarily need there to be a static message if the automatic snapshot failed (so user can know to restart).

Correction: Tab Session Manager extension works fine with tree style tabs if the option is enabled! So I suggest using that.

So this is low impact since there is a great alternative.

Actually, the error only appears when I click "Snapshots Viewer". After restarting once, automatic snapshots work as intended.

I should add that now the problem has evolved and I can't even do manual snapshots or view previous ones, the snapshot editor appears empty, and also whenever I open it, firefox prompts me saying this page is slowing down firefox. I don't know what happened but I stopped having this issue in v4 for the past month and now that I have upgraded to v5, I still do not have this issue anymore.

I had Tab Sesssion Manager doing auto-backups to cloud at same time so I'm not sure which extension would cause a conflict...?

Honestly should experiment moving to v5 after taking backups. Much more features. I had no issues except when I was first upgrading (some groups got rearranged). Should see if you have this snapshot issue there.

I also have this problem with 4.10.1 and only just now noticed it.

I have it set to do a snapshot every 1 hour with a max of 48, however I just hit a scenario where I needed to restore from a snapshot only to realize none have actually been created since I made the initial test ones 13 days ago.

I also just checked my laptop, and there has been 0 automatic snapshots created since I originally set it up with the same settings on July 3rd.

Luckily I was able to restore from Tab Session Manager. I lost my panels, but in the grand scheme of things I was still pretty relieved.

1. Take a full snapshot and make sure to export this just in case you need to go back to v4 on another profile.
2. Install the latest beta from releases
3. Wait for process to complete and then take another snapshot and export just in case you need to go back to default settings
4. Have fun learning all the new settings. You might have a few pages/nested structure that messed up, I think that's been fixed though.
