Feature Req: Manual configuration for copy/paste memory

I frequently use the lasso tool to copy and paste sections of documents. But I rarely am pasting more than once. Is there way to toggle off the "memory" of what's been copied to the clipboard? This would solve two issues:

1. (most important) - inadvertently pasting information where I don't want it
2. avoiding needing to click the "clear clipboard" nag at the bottom of the screen to avoid (1) from happening.

How do you imagine ensuring that someone wants to copy more than once?

A toggle for whether what is cut or copied remains on the clipboard.
