Feature Req: Disabling infinite scroll

Open Lesekater opened this issue 2 years ago • 10 comments

If possible, I would like to request the ability to toggle infinite scrolling on and off. This is one of the only features that still keeps me from upgrading to 3.*.

PS: As many have said, thank you for all the work you've put into this project! I'm still on 2.15, partly because the ddvk hacks don't get updated, and this repository makes me consider upgrading to 3.*.

I'm in the same exact situation. I have no interest in the infinite pages feature, as I need to be able to export to A4 PDFs. If there was a way to toggle this off that would be amazing!

I second that, while the feature to have infinite paper is neat, and it's handy for writing or as, in my case, when I use my Galaxy Tab for drawing to be able to continue beyond the edges of the canvas if I need to (I make the canvas as large as possible to compensate for the lack of infinite scroll). But It's a feature that for me still doesn't work on Remarkable because of the inherent inconvenience of the e-ink technology used; the screen redrawing lag makes me prefer a fixed canvas.

Infinite scroll is ok for many use cases but It would be awesome to have an option to turn it off at will.

If you activate the gesture of hiding the panel by swiping down with one finger, then scrolling and activating the continuous paper is two fingers, so it should not happen to you that you accidentally enlarge the page with your hand - try it.

I second all of what is said here.

Additionally having the infinite scroll conflicts with the v0.0.6's swap to previous document gesture. Often time when I swipe from one document to another, the infinite scroll triggers and causes me to have to scroll back up.

Often time when I swipe from one document to another, the infinite scroll triggers and causes me to have to scroll back up.

Same, but I also use infinite scroll. What I do when switching documents is begin the swipe-up gesture from the bezel and try to do it a little slower than a page scroll.

I just wish the action of scrolling the page, both vertically and horizontally, could be triggered when you hold down and drag two fingers (which currently it can) but not when you swipe. Is that doable @mb1986?

Strong upvote. I still keep accidentally extending pages, in particular with the swap documents feature (which is super valuable!). Any ideas if this will be possible? Suggestion maybe: add a confimation button like the infamous (+) for new page. So maybe three options: off, confirm, factory

I actually tried 3.X once, infinite scrolling and the sensitive zoom made me quit it back for 2.X (there were no hacks atm also ...). I might try it soon enough but the infinite scroll frightens me.

Somehow related but I think for a different use case and probably less demanded, so I opened another issue for it: #273

I love the infinite vertical scroll. It lets me make one "page" per meeting no matter how long the meeting is.

Horizontal scroll however I loathe!

I could see this being a global/per doc setting to enable/disable vertical and horizontal scrolling
