Bug: Steadler pencil eraser not working on rm1

Steadler pencil eraser not working with rm-hacks. I have not tried other versions but it used to work on rm1: 2.15.1.1189.

Interesting, when on the eraser and I use the steadler eraser it switches to the pen.

Don't forget to answer y to install ddvk/remarkable-stylus and restart whole device.

Did a full power off and restart, the eraser is still drawing on pen mode and when I put it in eraser mode it switches to the pen mode. pressed y to install ddvk.

Ahh, ok. It is definetly triggering to return to pen mode after erasing, so that part is working. It is just the initial trigger to activate eraser mode that is not working.

Hi, I just tried it and it did not trigger the eraser mode and the eraser mode still switched back to pen when the steadler eraser is used to erase.

I can confirm that the eraser on the Kindle Scribe Premium pen also does not work on my device with version 0.0.6. This is on a rm1, on a rm2 all erasers should work out of the box on stock software (this might be what others have tested?).

Yes, I answered yes to installing the Lamy hack as well. The Kindle scribe pen has both a side button and a rubber eraser at the top. The side button works perfectly with the lamy hack. The rubber eraser just works as a stylus/pen. I also tried uninstalling and the installing the hacks again, with no luck.

Thanks, it seems that without the pen with the eraser I will not be able to debug it unfortunately (I have also rM1). I am planning to buy the Staedtler Jumbo one in a couple of weeks.

Maybe I should reset the device and try on a fresh install.

Like @ingatellent mentioned earlier it may be related to rM1 vs rM2. Frankly speaking, I don't know.

for me it is working fine, eraser works and no toggling of the modes while using the eraser of the pen.

It is supposed to toggle - ie change to eraser mode automatically when you use the eraser side of the pen and toggle back when you stop erasing.

Ok, didn't know. For me it works as stock and I find it OK this way

It works - sort of. When I reported that the eraser on my Kindle scribe pen didn't work, I actually only checked in notebooks - i.e. in a Quick Sheet. Here it does not work, nothing is triggered by the eraser.

However, today I annotated a .pdf and as I placed the marker on top of my RM1, I saw that the tool chanced to the eraser. In a .pdf-it works fine, with the ability to erase.

However, in the .pdf the shortcut for selecting the previous tool by clicking the side button is now flaky (I think must be related?), it can only sometimes do a swap and never away from the fineliner. This works fine in a notebook.

Finally It would be nice if the side button could use selection eraser while still being able to use the regular eraser with the rubber eraser on the top. (feature request for the final implementation of this).

I can confirm that the steadler eraser works perfectly on PDF files.

Indeed, it does work on PDFs (and not anywhere else, like other people mentioned). Although it seems that the eraser size is too small (and changing it doesn't seem to help).

Confirming what others have said, Noris Jumbo works appropriately on PDFs but not in notebooks.
