Gesture to switch between two most recent documents does not work with selection tool

When copying something with the selection tool there is a small black bar at the bottom of the screen in which it is written: "Clear clipboard | Tap with Marker to paste". When this bar is visible the sortcut to switch between the two most recent documents does not seem to work (two fingers from the bottom of the screen).
