Feature Request: Save Custom Templates

I know that when an update is done it switches the rm partition.

Would it be possible to implement a script that would save the custom templates in rm to a location from which they would then be uploaded to the appropriate folder? Of course also with the subsequent json file.

I accidentally updated my rm a while ago, so I went back to the previous partition using the switch.sh script and all the settings and templates were fine.

From this I gather that a well written script included in the hack could take these files and upload them to the appropriate folder when installing the hack?
