Cannot connect with VNC before entering password

What I would like to do is connect via VNC to berryboot and enter my password, and at the moment I am unable to do this.

I get an initial berryboot screen with raspberry logo which tells me VNC has been enabled and I am unable to connect. Then very quickly berryboot moves to the password screen and I am still unable to connect. After entering my password I am greeted with another welcome screen and am then able to connect with my VNC client. I am using a wired connection. I am on a pi4 model b.
