Cannot Convert Android to Berryboot

Open MrRedness opened this issue 6 years ago • 12 comments

Hello! So, berryboot's version of android is pretty old, and crashed a lot. So, I looked online, but there are not any precompiled versions of android 7 for berryboot. Then, I tried converting lineage os 14.1 for rpi into berryboot, but it has 3 partitions, and fails to convert. Any fix?

You mean convert android? Is there any way to run a newer version of android?

Yes convert android since is has more than two partitions it very difficult or impossible to convert it.

So, any way to run a newer version? I mean, android 4 was somehow converted for berryboot.

The main problem is not the partitions (one can fix that manually), but the 3d driver. The config.txt options to get that running, conflict with the options Openelec and Raspbian want. Do not currently have a good solution for that.

Hello, in the meanwhile there is a good RPI android rom - that even comes with a hardware accelaration (3D). So driver exists. There's also a rom-version that works with pinn. So shouldn't it be possible to bring this to berryboot as well ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MekLwUcU7o

Hiya there. Nice to see berryboot isn't dead after all. I'll definitely look into that Android ROM, thanks! I don't know about converting it though. If I have time I might try it myself.
