Float converts incorrectly

mysql float columns become numberic 8,0 without any warning.

this should be done as a setting

We also just had this issue with a float column going to numeric(255,0) with no warning, leading to massive data loss (recoverable, but still a pain in the butt) :+1:

Where is the setting for floats? I cannot seem to be finding it from the current source...
