I'm not sure what you mean exactly. ttyper currently gives WPM, not WPS, and this is the standard measurement used across essentially all typing tests.

If there's a significant demand for it, it definitely wouldn't be that hard to implement. It would literally just be

I thought that the use of WPM was better because it helped smoothed out the variance of your typing speed throughout the the typing test
