Working with objects instead of strings

Can this plugin work with objects where one field is ID and other DisplayName? As typeahead is able to provide list of key/value items but tagPush() of plugin seems to accept strings only. This issue makes to store and display not human readable ID only. While tag chips could display DisplayName and store ID

Seems this important issue was raised before https://github.com/max-favilli/tagmanager/issues/182
