cannot create waypoint-only mission
Expected Behavior
After selecting Plan -> Blank, I would expect to have an empty map on which to add waypoints (no special functions like survey or structure scan in the mission).
Current Behavior
The Waypoint button is greyed out and unresponsive. No Takeoff/launch waypoint is generated either.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch QGroundControl.Appimage
- Select Plan
- Select Blank
- Be stuck
System Information
- Operating System: Ubuntu 20.04
- QGC Version: 4.2.3
- QGC build: stable appimage
- Flight Controller: Pixfalcon (FMUv2 binary compatible)
- Autopilot (with version): ArduRover 4.2.2
Additional Comments
Maybe this is just an expectations problem, but it seems really useless to have a mission mode that does nothing. Ultimately, I think it makes a lot more sense to rely on the pattern button to drop surveys and scans into the missions the same way you do waypoints, and completely do away with the "Create Plan" options in the File menu.
Touch takeoff button at first Don't know why designed like this. I also a long time haven't touch takeoff button, Worried the plane running away
The takeoff button is not available either, presumably because I do not have a vehicle connect to the program at the moment. Either way, making a waypoint-only mission should not require special steps.
I can not reproduce the problem. I'm able to create a takeoff waypoint and a waypoint with a disconnected vehicle and a blank mission plan.
@humanoid2050 can you provided use with additional information or some screenshots?
Fresh download of QGroundControl appimage. Now running on Ubuntu 22.04. Open to this screen:
Selecting "Plan" in the previous screen pops up a Create Plan menu.
Selecting "Blank" makes the Create Plan menu disappear.
I can then go into Launch Position dropdown and use the Set To map Center button to drop a launch point.
The problem is that after that, the Waypoint and Pattern buttons are greyed out and useless.
I am also experiencing this. Did you find a way around this?
