OBS Game Capture not working

Open sandwichguy64 opened this issue 5 months ago • 5 comments

The only method I've gotten to work is Display Capture. Game Capture can't seem to grab shaderglass at all despite it being the intended method? I'm using Window Clone mode, and tested with Rosalie's Mupen Gui and Flycast.

Hm not seeing this issue, just tried latest OBS 31.1.2 on Win 11: Game Capture works fine in both Glass and Clone modes (as long as you specify SG window). Desktop or Window Capture will also work, but in Clone mode only.

ok I think I managed to get it to work on Game Capture. Window Capture it will not recognize at all, but Game Capture I have to capture shaderglass before capturing any emulator. I also have to manually adjust the shaderglass window preview in obs or it won't adjust when going fullscreen, and the recording will end up occupying only a corner of the screen (1920 x 1080 canvas). Will probably have to do this every time I want to capture shaderglass.

Using OBS 31.1.2 as well.

I also want to ask, so I can't alt-tab or interact with any other window whether I'm in shaderglass fullscreen or window mode (both in clone mode). Is that intentional because of the way it takes priority or is it something on my end? It is most probably also the reason I have to manually adjust the window preview in obs as I have to either minimize or make the shaderglass window smaller to interact with obs.

Right, I think you're referring to ShaderGlass making itself topmost window so it always covers other windows. ShaderGlass does this whenever it's active, but it you Stop or Pause it, it will become a normal window - so you can set OBS up while it's Stopped and then Start only when you are ready. In latest 1.1.6 you can also assign a global hotkey to Start/Stop action for convenience.

hey I just tried the method you said, I tried both Start/Stop and Pause. It's not working for me. It's always a black screen or doesn't get recognized by OBS. The method I mentioned earlier that happened to work for me is also extremely inconsistent and I haven't been able to get it to work at all since that day. Not sure what's wrong, only Display Capture works without any issues so far.

Is 1.1.6 available anywhere or is that an upcoming version? Currently on 1.1.4 which is the github release.
