That tweet appears to be speculation only. This project can certainly be forked!
Here appear to be two more active projects:

If i can do everything using coffescript why should i learn another thing only for css replacement? doesnt make sense unless we want to go with mainstream bullshit.

i liked the philosophy but using unmaintaine software in enterprise lvl is bit risky

but i like coffeescriptish stuffs a lot. i use python hvyly 4 backend. vuejs+coffee for client side
you are a good guy :P I´m doing some vuejs stuff as we speak.

I got a proposal, lets create a organization with coffeecup users and volunteers to maintain the good project for long officially with a team :)

new ogranisation created name coffeekup as cup is not available+ this will let the future user of the library
to commemorate the initial author and his naming convention.
2nd point what should be the library name? coffeekup? or coffeecup? which will be better for npm install? thought guys? who of you are willing to participate in the organization as dev members?
i want to invite some of you who worked before and willing to participate :)
Dont understand why. I bet if facebook looked at it only once , "there would be thousands of talented people here...
