Using Gradle version 4.0 is not allowed but using 6.1, fails to build

When opening the QR code scanner sample, when opening with the minimum gradle supported version (6.1) fails with the following message: Cause: org.jetbrains.plugins.gradle.tooling.util.ModuleComponentIdentifierImpl.getModuleIdentifier()Lorg/gradle/api/artifacts/ModuleIdentifier; Running with 4.0 is not allowed.
