finishing this project?

I've read the readme and it is quite sad that this won't be finished. Would a serious effort probably exerted if there would be more contributor? I plan to contribute on the project since it's been quite time that I am searching for a gtk4 email alternative to thunderbird which really looks ugly in gnome.
