there is no make sty file to run in the downloaded zip file

Of course no. The make command is a general utility for building programs from source code and not for a specific one. It is a default part of various Linux-distributions, but if you use Windows then you probably need MinGW, or Linux Subsystem for Windows (only Windows 10) to use make.
