jekyll server Dependency Error

Open jiehu567 opened this issue 8 years ago • 6 comments

Hi, I got this error when using: jekyll server Dependency Error: Yikes! It looks like you don't have jekyll-paginate or one of its dependencies installed. In order to use Jekyll as currently configured, you'll need to install this gem. The full error message from Ruby is: 'cannot load such file -- jekyll-paginate' If you run into trouble, you can find helpful resources at http://jekyllrb.com/help/! jekyll 3.3.0 | Error: jekyll-paginate

I tried google out what to do, but still have no idea. Any suggestions are welcome.

Tnx,

Jie

Are You trying to build jekyllthemes locally? jekyllthemes currently supports only Jekyll 2.x.

Tnx a lot! It's working! I gonna use jekyll 2.0.

Good You got it working. I'm going to try to talk with @mattvh about it, so maybe he could upgrade jekyllthemes to 3.x.

That's great! Because on github pages website, most newbies like me will just do: gem install jekyll and install latest version.

Thanks a lot for your contribution!

The current version of Jekyll on the server is now 3.x. I still probably need to get around to making a gemfile up.

I've got one I'm using locally, but was hesitant to commit it since we'd probably want the lock file that matches the server config, not my local config.
