2 bug fixes, some new features, and Python 2.6 support

Hi!

This is actually my first pull request so please bare with me. Also, I'm not a python dev so forgive the stylistic errors.

Hopefully, some of this will be useful. I'm trying to replace PartyChat with this server so some of this is just to achieve feature parity. I'm not sure how much else I will modify but you never know. If nothing else, pull the html relay fix as it's really useful. To test it, I was sending colored text via Adium.
