Request: Disney+ (hotstar) (South Africa)

Hi,

I can only sign into my profile with a device phone number and a code set to my phone. In your plugin.py script I saw that you have a procedure for deviceCode login...but it was commented out. I restored it to the active script - but it still fails with DEVICE_CODE_URL.

How can I get the code login working?

It's not working. It also is for a tv login not mobile phone login. In my country they don't use either so can't test yet

This happens in Israel as well I was able to reset my password by going to the privacy choices. Now I am able to login, but only profile showing is My Profile and not the ones I created. Using the default profile, every item (e.g. Recommended for you) shows No Items. Tried creating a profile named My Profile, but still no go.

I'm having the same issue. Did you happen to find any work around or anything? I'm willing to make changes to the code and try to make this work but I don't even know where to start.

Did you try the email password login on their website or official apps? I assume it's not a proper login

The mobile app "simplifies" login by asking for a one-time token. Website redirects to a portal where phone number triggers an OTP login as well, so can't use the password. I tried accessing the reset password page but came up short, there is no documentation for resetting the password in the Israeli site too. The website I mentioned above was the only way (maybe asides from phone assistance, but gave up after 30 minutes) to reset your password

In Israel the only way to login to your account is with a code sent to the user's phone number, that's true for the website and the phone app.

After some more digging it seems there are 2 types of official apps, apparently each one for different regions, one for countries that use username and passwords for login and another for countries that use OTP only. Also if you try to login with a registered Israeli account's email address to Disney+ on the US website, it seems to not even recognise the email address as a registered account, theoretically you could have 2 active accounts, an American and an Israeli, with the same email address.

Does any of that help us in finding a solution?

Looks like the hotstar addon has been abandoned so maybe I can look into creating my own.

I've got the setup ready to go, I just need a Disney+ hotstar user to get in contact with me with their phone number so I can debug the login requests

I've actually been working on an add-on for Israel's Disney+ for personal use by modifying the Hotstar add-on. It handles streaming (there's room for improvement) and provides navigation to the user's Watchlist, and can export it to Kodi's Library.

I believe the way I implemented it should potentially work for South Africa and other regions as well. So I'm willing to contribute with the development, @matthuisman?

Thank you for the effort @matthuisman ! Philippines also have the same authentication (via mobile phone + OTP only). Would be great if we can add mobile login option.
