Maybe mentioning it clearly would be a good idea.

I also experienced the problem that WOW.js "simply did not work" and suspected that jQuery was the problem. I replaced Animate.css by an older version. Afterwards WOW.js worked perfectly with jQuery 3.5.1.

I confirm that, anyway I don't know if we should use WOW.js instead of AOS since the last release was in 2015...

No update, no response to the proposed PRs ... it doesn't look good! For me the project is dead.
