LHS shows user as connected even though they are not

The LHS counts are visible in the top left corner when the user is disconnected, when it should really only show the GitLab icon. This is the case when the user is a member of one team. Not sure about the exact behavior for multiple teams.

As discussed in thread, we want to remove this component entirely when the user is not connected, since there is already a way to connect on the Apps Bar on the right.
