unfortunately we may not have time to implement Custom Variables in Tag manager. We recommend using Custom Dimensions instead of Custom variables: https://matomo.org/guide/reporting-tools/custom-dimensions/

When I look at MWP, there is no site selector, because I only have 1 WP site. Is this issue maybe only relevant when used in "Multisite" mode?
