Adjusting the brightness of lights

Open Bandy325 opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

When I change the brightness of my lights the selector moves back and forth uncontrollably. The brightness of my lights also react the same way... they go from light to dark and then to light and finally they reach the 'set' brightness.

Please provide additional details, such as the attributes yaml of the entity, the specific type and make of light, and clarify what you mean by "selector." The more information you provide, the better.

I would like to help, but because I have little to no technical knowledge. Maybe a stupid question, but can you tell me where I can find the "attributes yaml". Is that the "YAML" that is displayed under the "code" button.

If you go here you'll see the attributes of your light

Open your Home Assistant instance and show your state developer tools.

also include previously mentioned

I have now discovered that it only happens when I operate a "group of lights" and even then it happens very randomly. My lamps mainly consist of 34 Hue lamps and 6 Ikea lamps. Because it concerns a "group" of lamps (consists of 12 lamps), I do not know whether you want to know all the attributes of this group. I have shown the attributes of 1 lamp below (Hue play-bar)

min_color_temp_kelvin: 2000
max_color_temp_kelvin: 6535
min_mireds: 153
max_mireds: 500
effect_list: blink, breathe, okay, channel_change, candle, fireplace, colorloop, finish_effect, stop_effect, stop_hue_effect
supported_color_modes: color_temp, xy
effect: null
color_mode: null
brightness: null
color_temp_kelvin: null
color_temp: null
hs_color: null
rgb_color: null
xy_color: null
friendly_name: TV left
supported_features: 44

Another small addition: all lamps are controlled via zigbee2mqtt. The groups have also been created in zigbee2matt.

Okay, I have hue lights, and they work fine here, so maybe it's the size of the group that is causing the issue. Right now, there's a 2.5-second delay where the slider doesn't update (from external changes) once you drag it to prevent it from jumping all over the place. If your light group takes longer than that, maybe that is what you're seeing?

What you say makes sense. Tomorrow I will try my "bathroom group" this is also a group but with 2 lights. I only have my phone now and can do it because of Invalid redirect URI problem
