Open secondstar1 opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hi, Matt. An issue with deleting a labels on scheme has been found. Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new file
  2. Place a Label with some text
  3. Click on this label to select it, then press Del button. Result: Text has been removed, but small rectangle still on the scheme.

Version 3.00.03 wasn't impacted with this issue.

Hi,

I don't think is an issue - I think the problem is that when you select the label (step 3) the text in the "Label Tool Options" dialog is selected automatically for you, so when you press delete, you are clearing the text from the input on the dialog - not deleting the label. You can delete the label by right clicking on it and selecting "delete".

Hi Matt, Yes, I found in the sources that you removed Accelerated menu to override behaviour of DEL key. It's up to you indeed (for me - previous approach was more convinient). But if I remove a text for a label - small red rectangle still be in schematic and it can't be selected by pressing Left Button. Moreover, if I save the file with empty labels and open it again - these labels will not appears anymore. So, why we need to keep it during editing a scheme?

FYI This "empty text" problem annoyed also me. I modified my own fork to delete these kind empty items after edit. I made a pull request in case this would be considered for the official release. Please see here #70
