Is this project dead? Any alternative?
It looks like this project is dead. Any plans to renew work on it? If not, any alternative?
Its not quite "dead", because it still works adequately, its functional. It's sort of undead. lol. There's little reason to update from the Windows perspective: NTFS is 28 years old, and Microsoft's 2012 "Resilient File System (ReFS)" never went anywhere, so... DiskInternals Linux Reader is proprietary, but free and reads EXT2/EXT3/EXT4, HFS, UFS2, Reiser4, and ReiserFS. You also might want to check out https://alternativeto.net/software/ext2fsd/ Paragon Software has an unfree solution, I've never tried it.
There is also "DiskGenius" (non-free): https://www.diskgenius.com/how-to/ext4-windows.php
Both paid option are fine. The Paragon latest version you can have a nice gui with auto mount and write options to ext3 On the DiskGenius you can also have the write but i prefer paragon interface and option to open in w explorer easily
The read only free is ok if you want to use it
The ext2fsd 0.68 is the best to use with software as OSFMOUNT
@matt-wu Could you please update the driver? I was testing linux batocera and in their wiki they state that driver is older and creates write errors when writing to their linux distro
I was teting the version 30 an even though ext2fsd had write access to the partition, after boot files copied were all disappeared. When back on PC it was there. When had both paragon and ext2fsd running to mount 2 diff partitions one to read and one to write it kept freezing my system
We all would appreciate if you can release a v0.70 with update linux driver. Its an awesome software you created. Also is the name will be ext3fsd as per git repository or a typo ? Kind regards, a great supporter of your work

"implemented support for the new ext4 features metadata checksums and 64-bit blocknumbers in the ext2fsd project by Matt Wu."
Driver is unsigned however (don't blame them, driver signing is EXPENSIVE)
Its not quite "dead", because it still works adequately, its functional. I have not seen any mention of windows 11 support, and I read a report that this is not working in windows 11.
