Hello, thanks for the awesome plugin. Any plans adding .webp format?

I suggest to follow https://github.com/OFFLINE-GmbH/oc-responsive-images-plugin/issues/28#issuecomment-486674433 and mutuate the solution once approved by maintainers.

We should also keep an eye on reSmush.it (#13) as it can support WebP soon (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/webp-format/#post-11467075).

rosell-dk/webp-convert can be a good candidate to manage conversions.

This plugin is being migrated to core (see #55), so we are trying to figure out what issues are still relevant to invite to reopen them in core.

Issues that will remain inactive in next 30 days will be closed.
