Messages dropping on edit

Hi, when someone says something on discord, but then immediately edits the message (e.g. fixes a typo), sometimes the message is removed from Matrix instead of being edited. The message was still there for a while, because it got noticed by an IRC relay bot we're running, but it's not visible anymore in Element.

But sometimes it edits the message correctly...

Do the messages get deleted/redacted entirely, or do they just disappear?

What I've seen happen is multi-edited Discord messages appearing blank in Element Web: emptyMessage Other clients render them in a variety of different ways, which suggests that the bridge is doing something non-standard with them.
