GA Import killed each day after reaching API request limit but no new data imported

A customer has an ongoing import with no end date. The import shows the status 'Killed' each day when reaching the API request limit but no additional data is actually imported. This has happened for the last 10 days.

@AltamashShaikh has taken a preliminary look at this and suggested it might be related to a logic issue.

Will post more info on the internal ticket.
