New Metrics for better Custom Reports: Ecommerce, Content, times...

We've looked at which metrics we're currently missing in Custom Reports that require a new major release of Matomo. So far, we've identified:

Product Revenue - This is partly implemented already, but has the limitation that the Product Quantity metric must be included in the same report. To remove this limitation, a new revenue column needs to be added to the log_conversion_item table.

Product conversion rate

Exit Rate - Looking in Glossary, it looks like there are multiple Exit Rates. It was potentially left out to avoid confusion, TBD.

Content impressions - Is calculated by counting the number of actions related to a piece of content. This seems to be the same as #hits. If it isn’t, we’d likely need a new column

Content actions - If Unique Content Interactions isn’t good enough, this would likely require a new column

Product revenue left in the cart

Quantity left in cart

Average quantity left in cart

Abandoned carts

Average time per page

Time on page (total, max, avg.)

Unique Pageviews

Unique Events

  • ecommerce product variants
  • ecommerce custom dimensions
  • 1:n relations field / list (e.g. multiple tags for a blog article or multiple roles for a user)
