Do not redirect the user to the default website when clicking on the Matomo logo
Currently, when clicking on the Matomo logo, it will redirect to the default website defined within Matomo. It normally should stay the same in order to avoid confusion for the end user.

Not sure if this would be a good change or not. The logo currently brings you back to the default website, default report and default date/period and removes other selections like segments, comparison, ... Resetting only parts of it might be confusing as well.
What exactly would you expect instead?
@Chardonneaur would you mind to answer?
Hi,
When I click on the Matomo logo, it means "back to dashboard" for many customers I've met.
If the website changes, it breaks the navigation logic. It may also be interesting to keep the period and the segment chosen?
To reset the date, segment and filter options, it might be interesting to add a "Reset" (as an icon ?) button to the right of the segment selector?
Regards, Ronan

I guess that's the case as most users have configured to load a specific dashboard by default. But you can also configure to load e.g. the multisite dashboard by default. In that case I guess the logo would bring you there at the moment.
I'll pass the decision on to our product team, to decide if we should change the target of the logo in general or not.

That might be something else we could consider. Feel free to create a separate issue for that, so our product team can consider it for future improvements.
Thank you for your answer and transferring this topic to product team.

2 cents from my view and one person echoed the sentiment: it's annoying that clicking on the Matomo resets the website selector because we use it as "navigate to homepage" and not as "navigate to homepage with default selection".
This extends beyond going from a report (e.g. a custom report or a funnel) to the main dashboard, for example it's strange that the website selector changes when you're in the MTM configuration settings and use the Matomo logo to go back to the dashboard.
