Add regex condition pattern to segments, custom alerts, custom reports
Giving the possibility to users to use Regex within segments, custom alerts and custom reports will give them far more flexibility.

Another request for this feature. "We have multiple languages and in order to get the total number we need to use regular expression on our reports. When creating custom reports, I can see there is no regex option and there is no include and `exclude 'options."

I see several requests here or in the forum about regex for segment, filter, custom reports, etc. Do you plan to integrate his functionnality ? Others majors web analytics services have it, i think it's necessary to have it in matomo too.
Hi @morgan-np, it is in the backlog for prioritisation by the product team. I'll let the team know there's a demand for this feature.
We had another related request, this one a Custom Dimension URL extraction suggestion:
Want to be sure what value (if any) is being extracted by regex expression.
A test function right next to the inputs would be ideal to allow quick feedback loop e.g.:
Maybe it could show a popup with the matched value or simply display it under the input box?
A pop up similar to the Custom Report "Preview Report" feature would be ideal.
Hello, it will be great to have this kind of feature to create customs reports easily. If it's possible, give the possibility to select two options :
- match regex
- does not match regex
