Cant generate the debug link

I am trying to have the debug mode enabled but the link doesn't get generate. what can be the issue

when you enable the preview mode, it should have shown such a blue notification with more instructions image

Technically, if you embed the TagManager on the same domain as your WordPress then you wouldn't even need a debug link. If you enable preview mode and then visited your website, does it maybe show the debug window?

If not, does it show the debug screen on your website where the container is embedded when you append ?mtmPreviewMode=ABmddRN9 or &mtmPreviewMode=ABmddRN9 to the URL? eg https://yourdomain.com?mtmPreviewMode=ABmddRN9
