Connecting Error : Switch to Ethereum or Matic network

Altho metamask is connected to Ethereum main net and also when connected to Matic main network it still gives a JS:alert saying "switch to Matic or Ethereum network"; please can someone help on how to overcome this issue. you guys are amazing!! Thank you..
