@py-zoid @0xywzx The child address provided is incorrect. Mapped to - 0x6AE7Dfc73E0dDE2aa99ac063DcF7e8A63265108c
@appumenon @py-zoid
What does child address mean in this case? Could you let me know what should I do next?
@appumenon Hi, we want to give you some more information here. This time we updated JPYC v1 into JPYC(JPY Coin) v2, which is based on a totally new smart contract. You can read the documentation here.
- JPYC v2 is not launched on Ethereum yet but it will be done soon. The token addresss is supposed to be the same as "0x431D5dfF03120AFA4bDf332c61A6e1766eF37BDB". Can this work?
- The address you mentioned here is JPYC v1 on Polygon -> It should be this:0x6AE7Dfc73E0dDE2aa99ac063DcF7e8A63265108c
- JPYC v2 is launched on Polygon, and that is why we want to apply for the token list.
- Because JPYC v1 is the old contract that will be deprecated in the future, we want you to call it "JPYC(JPY Coin) v1" and call JPYC v2 as "JPYC(JPY Coin)".
- Remember that JPYC v1 will transition into JPYC v2 but the process can be 1 year or so. That means both token will be coexisting during the process.
@appumenon Is there any update for this issue?
@appumenon Are you still there? Please feel free to ask any question here. Thank you! Let's get this going.
@thurendous The JPYC v2 token has to be mapped to it's Ethereum counterpart so that users will be able to bridge the tokens between ethereum and polygon. From what I understand you have provided us with JPYC v2 token address on polygon and JPYC v1 address on Ethereum. Please map the v2 token and change the ethereum address in this request accordingly. Then we can confirm the mapping and add it to our list.
@py-zoid Thanks. The thing is JPYCv2 is not deployed on Ethereum yet(will do this soon). Will this work?
I want to note that:
- JPYCv2 is a brand new contract. The contract address is totally different from JPYCv1.
- JPYCv1 is on Ethereum and Polygon both
-
0x2370f9d504c7a6e775bf6e14b3f12846b594cd53- Ethereum
-
- JPYCv1 will be deprecated in the future. (no more newer issuance since May)
For your reference:
- JPYCv1 - https://www.coingecko.com/ja/%E3%82%B3%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3/jpy-coin-v1
- JPYCv2 - https://www.coingecko.com/ja/%E3%82%B3%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3/jpy-coin
@py-zoid Maybe we can let the "Ethereum address" be empty? Or we can put JPYCv1 address in it temporarily and update it later on.
@thurendous Sorry for my delayed response. JPY Coin (v1) on ethereum - 0x2370f9d504c7a6E775bf6E14B3F12846b594cD53 Mapped to 0x6AE7Dfc73E0dDE2aa99ac063DcF7e8A63265108c on Polygon. The 0x431D5dfF03120AFA4bDf332c61A6e1766eF37BDB (v2) - is natively deployed on Polygon only. Currently the Wallet Suite only supports mapped tokens. As JPYC v2 is natively deployed, we will not be able to add it to the whitelist. But v1 sure can be as it is an asset that can move between Etheruem and Polygon
@appumenon Thanks for the answer! So it won't make sense to add JPYCv2 into the token list? By the way, your understanding is right. JPYCv2 is natively deployed on Polygon. And it will also be done in the same way on Ethereum soon.
So once these are deployed and mapped, lets add them to the Wallet Suite. We are palnning to host support for native tokens soon
@appumenon Does that mean because the JPYCv2 is a native token on Polygon, the token list cannot support such thing? The token list is just for tokens on Ethereum layer 1 native token to bridge to Polygon only? Am I missing anything here?
Can we keep the "Ethereum address" empty and apply for now(because it is not deployed on mainnet yet)? I think we can add the "Ethereum address" later on. Is it OK? @appumenon @py-zoid
@appumenon We have deployed JPYC v2 on ethereum as well. Now native JPYC v2 exists on ethereum and polygon. JPYC is funded by Circle Ventures, but is not bridged from ethereum to polygon like USDC. Perhaps this method is rare.

An update issue for JPYC v1 has been submitted.

Users are confused and want wallet.polygon.technology to reflect JPYC v2. The new logo will be released on 11/1. Therefore, please list the following after 11/2. This is because the logo in this link will be updated on 11/1. https://assets.jpyc.co.jp/logo/jpyc.svg
Also, if you can set this to Popular Tokens List instead of v1, please do.
