Building the encoder

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with building the Encoder repo in Qt Creator? Having trouble opening the project in Qt Creator (I've never used it before). I've got the remote linux device setup as a custom device and can SSH to it, but whenever I create a Kit for it, it says it is isn't compatible with the project.

Also, when trying to open the project in the latest version of Qt Creator or version 4.6.2 (as referenced in Encoder.pro.user), I get the following message:
