SRT support in Tiny ENC1
Hello. Do you think it is possible to add SRT support to TinyENC1 encoder from LinkPi? I bought that "by mistake" suggested that has H265 and SRT, but unfortunattely officaly NOT. Maybe update with different firmware? Or activate something in device?
If they didn't add it in the first place I suppose the problem might be with a CPU that's not fast enough to deal with the cryptography part of SRT. From the information you were been able to provide, the main app isn't linked against libsrt and there's no sight of libsrt.so in the firmware.
So the short answer is no, but you can try getting a static ARM build of ffmpeg with SRT support built in, and running it from the console.
Looks like the difference between TinyENC1 and ENC1 CPU chip is the clock speed, 0.9GHz vs 1.3GHz, I doubt it affects encryption speed but that they intentionally disable the feature.
I am experiencing same situation to @kamileq and emailed LinkPi support if they can release upgraded firmware that enables SRT for TinyENC1.
The thing is that TinyENC1 doesn't accept ssh and that prevents community from customizing the device.
I'll have a look into the firmware. Adding telnet would be pretty easy provided TinyENC1 uses the same upgrade procedure as all the other encoders...
It's worth noting that Endeco's firmware for TinyENC1 supports SRT.
By the looks of it telnet is available on this device. But I would recommend buying the device in hope of getting SRT to run on it...
