Increase the size of faces in the "There are more persons to recognize" view

Open strugee opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Expected behaviour

The faces in the "There are more persons to recognize" view should be easily visible

Actual behaviour

Said faces are very small and I have to strain my eyes/get closer to the monitor to see them (this is especially problematic because in this context the user isn't just looking at the faces; they're being asked to actively identify them which means you want to see a lot of detail)

Steps to reproduce

Server configuration

(Omitting unnecessary technical detail since this is a UI only bug.)

  • Nextcloud version: 20

Client configuration

  • Browser: Firefox Nightly 84

  • Operating system: Debian 10 Linux

Hi @strugee I have my doubts regarding this. You are probably right, but this depends a lot on the screen you are viewing.

Do you have a small screen with high resolution?. My two main notebooks are 15 inches, one with 1920x1080 where I see it well, and the other of only 1366x768, where absolutely everything looks giant. :disappointed: but due my work I have a lot of 11-inch and 1366x768 netbooks and it looks good too.

When I defined that size I tried to imitate the size of google photos. It can probably be improved with mediaqueries but I would wait for the help of some UX expert..

I don't think so? My screen's 15 inches, 1080p. Honestly it might just be my vision... I need really strong glasses/really poor vision and do occasionally find myself zooming in on webpages because the text is too small.

Maybe there should be +/- buttons to adjust this?

Maybe @jancborchardt can help us? If he has time, of course :-)

hahah.. Don't feel bad, I admit it's small.. and since I'm not a designer, I try to imitate a lot .. maybe it's wrong.

image There's a clear need for improvement. Zooming in the browser does not improve recognition. Perhaps there is a need for buttons that allow you to open the original photo. It seems to me that the most optimal would be to load the full photo when you hover your mouse (popup window).

Sometimes, in order to identify a person in a photo, you need not only the cropped part of the face but also the surroundings around = the whole photo. Thanks
