Kitty Terminal + Fish + Spacefish: new Prompt lines in Vi mode or clipboard paste

Bug Report

I already filed bugs in Fish https://github.com/fish-shell/fish-shell/issues/7087 and Kitty https://github.com/kovidgoyal/kitty/issues/2743. I have the same behavior with Starship prompt: https://github.com/starship/starship/issues/1271

When I change vi command mode in the prompt or when I paste something from the clipboard, a new prompt is being emitted.

I have the same problem with a new prompt being emitted just when switching back and forth between normal and insert mode. I think this has to do with the fact that the prompt has several lines. I had the same problem with the pure prompt.
