No sound
I'm running on Windows 8.1 64bit. I've run the register_run_as_admin.bat script and tried to run the audio-cast.exe as both admin and not admin. It definitely connects and puts my soundbar into cast mode, there's just no sound.
Having the exact same issue except I'm on Windows 10 64-bit. Looks like this is not being maintained anymore?
Devices make the audio connection sound when connecting and disconnecting, but other than that no audio.
Is there audio when you cast a youtube video with Chrome to your Chromecast device? If so then, most likely, your computer doesn't accept incoming connections. (firewall etc.)
When using this app the Chromecast device has to make a connection with your computer. This connection is made right after this app has put your Chromecast device into cast mode (connection sound).
Have same issue here. I do hear the audio connection sound, but when playing something from my Clementine audio player (or any other program from my Win PC), no sound comes out. And yes, there is audio when casting directly from Chrome on same computer.
What ports do I have to open to accept incoming connections on my firewall, SamDel?
And by the way, it did work before. It just stopped working from one day to another. Rebooting PC or restarting Chromecast Audio device doesn't change anything.
If you're using the Windows Defender Firewall you can check in the Advanced Settings if the application is allowed in the inbound rules:

Same problem here. There is a connection sound but no sound afterwards. Application is allowed in firewall. Windows 10 x64. Tried on two computers with the same system. The folder is on the Desktop and tried launching the .bat file as well.
Fixed the problem using this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/comments/3tizl1/test_windows_cast_your_pc_audioout_to_the/
Although, I have fixed the sound now, it's lacking high resolution and bass compared to a regular chrome tab casting. Any suggestions?
Thank you SamDel,
the Firewall was indeed blocking the incoming connection cause I choose "Allow on Private Network" as I thought my LAN was one. It was a Windows issue. Thanks for the explanation! Great script!
