LAN connected computers not supported?

Open Kraechtshammer opened this issue 8 years ago • 6 comments

So I have always had the problem of not seeing my Chromecast on my Desktop PC which is connected to the router via LAN cable. Today I tried plugging in a WiFi Stick and now it works perfectly! From this I deducted that there might be a problem with LAN connected PCs, so it would be wonderful if you devs could look into it, see if there is a way to also check the LAN connections. On Google Chrome, everything works fine via LAN, so it should be possible! :)

mmm, interesting, I'm on LAN and it works for me. I have to fix my LAN IP discovery

Same problem here, on WiFi it works fine, on Lan the Chromecast isn't find.

FYI, I have windows 10 Pro 64bit laptop plugged into ethernet for network access. If I have "wireless network connection" turned off this app doesn't work, but if I turn it on (without actually making a connection to a WIFI router and while staying connected via ethernet), the app works.

Is this bug fixed in the latest version? The computer I plan to install on it hardwired

Make sure your LAN network is configured as a private, and not a public one, in your network profile. Solved it for me anyways.

Nevermind can connect but doesn't output any sound on my LAN connected PC. WiFi PC works fine though.
