Render the "about" text on the web as well

Currently, the text entered in the "about" field in blog settings is only during exporting as epub or pdf. What if the same text is also rendered on the home page -- say, below the footer?

Hey @pratul!

Hmm, we already have two things in the footer, i.e. the pages links and the footer text. I worry maybe adding a bio as well would be too much.

I'd still like to put the about setting somewhere though, but not sure where.

How about using the about setting in a <meta name="description" tag? This might improve the way blogs are displayed in search engine results.

Although this is probably something for a separate issue, it would be nice to have support for Open Graph to allow for rich embeds on social platforms. The about setting could similarly be used for the og:description property.

Currently, it is the Blog byline that is used as meta description. Do you think it'd be better to use the about field?

I've considered this from the beginning but my issue with Open Graph is that it requires an image property for every page. I don't like this. I definitely don't want every post to have an image. Open to ideas on how to go around it.

The simplest way that comes to mind is to let users upload a "default image for Open Graph" which gets used in case a post doesn't have an image. If a post does contain images, maybe pick the first one in the text?

Also let's take the Open Graph image discussion to a new issue and let's decide on the About text here 😁
